The first AgriTech Summit in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The first AgriTech Summit in Bosnia and Herzegovina “Digital Future of Agriculture” was held on 07 July at the Cineplexx Cinema Sarajevo.

The AgriTech Summit was an integrated one-day event, focusing on the digital present and the virtual future of the agri-food sector and the key challenges facing the sector and the growing demand for technological advancement in agriculture.

The first AgriTech Summit was held within the EU4Business project, funded by the European Union, and is organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The European Union is one more time both the power and the main driver behind the changes in the agri sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The AgriTech Summit was presented on three stages and will consist of interactive discussions as the main part of the programme, presentation of IT solutions in the agri sector and the virtual future of the agri sector.

The Summit brought together numerous experts in this area, representatives of the academic community and practitioners from the European Union and the world who will show how technological solutions contribute to improving agricultural practices today. Drawing on examples of successful regional and global initiatives, the AgriTech Summit will provide a platform for engaging in discussion and networking which is not to be missed.

Mr Mirko Jokić presented Smart Village’s new business model and project Supporting EEA Agri-food communities and networks by developing digital food quality and traceability services using blockchain technology,” funded by SmartAgriHubs through Horizon 2020.

The first AgriTech Summit in Bosnia and Herzegovina is organized within the EU4Business project, funded by the European Union, that aims to strengthen BiH’s capacity for economic growth and employment and foster competitiveness and innovation of the BiH companies in selected sectors. EU4Business is worth EUR 16.1 million, of which EUR 15 million is funded by the EU and EUR 1.1 million by the Federal Republic of Germany. The project is jointly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), UNDP in BiH and International Labour Organization (ILO).
